Further Support

Support After Cosmetic Surgery Abroad
Over the years, we’ve seen many patients return from overseas cosmetic procedures with little or no post-operative support. Whether this is due to oversight or language barriers, the result is often the same - patients are left unsure of how to care for themselves after surgery. In some cases, this can potentially be dangerous as well.
Common Challenges Seen with the Lack of Cosmetic Surgery Aftercare:
-
Ill-fitting or absent compression garments after body contouring procedures such as liposuction and abdominoplasty
-
No support bra provided after breast augmentation with implants or fat grafting
-
Lack of nutritional guidance, dietary assessment or even, psychological support during recovery
-
Persistent or worsening swelling that does not settle as expected

Under specialist guidance, our network of dedicated and experienced therapists will be part of an evidence-informed recovery plan that may include manual lymphatic drainage (lymphatic massage), compression garments, nutritional guidance, and scar rehabilitation to optimise healing, improve comfort, and enhance your results.

-
Fluid collections (seroma) after breast and body contouring procedures
-
Bruising or bleeding concerns (haematoma) after surgery
-
Delayed wound healing or wound breakdown
-
Changes in skin colour, texture, or viability around incisions
Many of these issues are time-sensitive and benefit from early specialist assessment, even when reassurance or observation is ultimately all that is required. If clinically necessary, further treatment options will be discussed and recommended.

We’re not against patients having cosmetic surgery abroad and many do so successfully. Our focus is on helping you recover safely and comfortably once you’re back home.
