Specialist assessment and treatment when early decisions matter

Doctor Stitch provides specialist plastic surgeon-led assessment and treatment of acute wounds and injuries, where early decisions may affect long-term healing, appearance, or function.

This may include:
-
Deep or complex lacerations
-
Facial wounds involving cosmetically-sensitive areas such as the lips, eyelids, nose, or eyebrows
-
Open or contaminated wounds (e.g. after an animal bite)
-
Fingertip and nail injuries
-
Hand and finger injuries where movement and feeling may be affected
-
Small burns involving the face, hand, or functionally important areas (e.g. genitals, feet)
-
Facial and hand infections where scarring, movement, or sensation may be affected

This service is not intended for:
-
Polytrauma or life-threatening injuries
-
24-hour emergency or walk-in trauma care
Patients with severe injuries should attend an emergency department immediately

Why specialist assessment matters
Inappropriate or delayed initial management can lead to:
-
poor healing
-
unnecessary scarring
-
functional loss
-
avoidable revision surgery
Early specialist input helps determine the least compromising path forward
